We've got space from the end of September. Here's how to use it.

The BBD team with over 50 years experience in FMCG marketing

Big Black Door has capacity opening up from the end of September. Not a lot, and not for long, but enough to take on a small number of new pieces of work before the year turns into Christmas trading and then straight into 2027 planning. Here’s a link to some examples of the projects and clients we’ve worked on.

If you're a marketing director, founder or commercial lead who's been sitting on a problem because there hasn't been the headspace to deal with it properly, this is worth a few minutes of your time.

What tends to fill this kind of gap

Most of the work that lands with us in the run-up to Q4 falls into a few categories:

  • A positioning or proposition that's gone soft and needs sharpening before next year's plan gets written

  • A marketing strategy that's really just a list of activity, with no clear view of what it's meant to change

  • A retailer relationship or range review that needs a clearer commercial story behind it

  • A founder or CMO who needs a second pair of senior eyes before a board conversation, not another agency workshop

  • Capability gaps in a marketing team that a fractional CMO can plug without the overhead of a full-time hire

None of that needs a six-month engagement to start. It needs someone who's done it before, sitting alongside you, asking the right questions early enough to matter. And with no ongoing service or agenda to sell you.

Why September, and why now

Q4 planning conversations tend to happen in October and November, which means the thinking behind them needs to happen before that. Leave it too late and you're writing a plan to justify decisions that have already been made, rather than a plan that changes anything.

Waiting until the new year to fix a positioning problem, tidy up a proposal, or bring in support means carrying it through the busiest trading period of the year first. That's usually the worst possible time to be operating without clarity.

The offer: a free 30-minute check-in

If any of this sounds like where you are, book a free 30-minute check-in with us. No deck, no pitch, no obligation.

We'll use the time to get clear on:

  • What the actual commercial problem is (not just the symptom)

  • Whether it's something worth bringing outside help in for

  • What the right next step looks like, whether that's working with us or not - we have a contact book that’s full of world class guns for hire who are either freelancers or micro-agencies.

It's a working conversation, not a sales call. If there's a fit, we'll talk about what that could look like. If there isn't, you'll still leave with a clearer view of the problem than you had before.

Spaces from end September are limited. If you've been putting off dealing with a problem you already know is there, this is the moment to do something about it.
